Guardia del monte (guard of monte) municipal museum, provided with items and files of great relevance that bring a general interview of the historical construction of the city

Found in the place traditionally known as “historic shell”, the Museum “Guardia del Monte” and the historic relic the “Rancho de Rosas” form, since the beginnings of 2008, by initiative of the Direction of Culture and Education of Monte´s town hall, one “complex” of a high value from a historic patrimonial and cultural point of view.

Organized from a large phase, in his interior, the visitor will appreciate the rustic and simple origin of “Guardia del monte” (guard of Monte), back in 1779 and his contribution to the independentist process; the weight of presence of a “Caudillo terrateniente” (chief lieutenant) like it was “Don Juan Manuel de rosas” and the influence that he exerted in the region, from his residence “Los cerillos”.
