This showy memory placed at the intersection of Giagnacovo and Suárez streets, evokes the passing of the Jesuits through Monte, in April 1887. The so-called The Cross of the Mission stands for the evangelizing work of those religious people who tried to educate and accompany the settlers in those old times.
Monte had a military and religious profile. This cross is a reminder of that aspect and its effort to educate and accompany those families which ventured to these distant places. The cross is also a testimony of the unique Jesuita’s mission who stepped on Monte.
